Winter Strom Art

The day I learned how to create the bloom patterns changed my life. I was drawn to the technique because of its clear and distinct lacing and cells. I very soon realized the potential of this consistency based technique. There is so much more you can do with it than „just“ bloom.

I obsessively studied ingredients, and invented methods like the loaded palette knife swipe and the scoop and drag that lead to the transfer swipe.

I’m fascinated by coincidence, but intrigued by the amount of intention you can add. I love to experiment and go with the flow. I’m so happy to get to share the experiences I made in the last few years with you.

It’s gonna be a blast!

Day 1

BEGINNERS - HOW TO BLOOM SWIPE

8.30am - 11.30am

I will teach you everything I learned in the past years about the Bloom recipe and how
you can achieve beautiful cells with the right consistencies.
How and why does it work, what are the ingredients and how to mix them? Why is the
consistency so important? And what the heck is a Cell activator?!
We dive into swiping and how you can use it as your tool to create an intentional piece of fluid
art - in this case 4 beautiful coasters that you can take home. This class is perfect for total
beginners as well as veterans that need some clarification you can build up with all other
intermediate classes.

Day 1

HOW TO SWIPE 2.0 - NEGATIVE SPACE

2.00pm - 5.00pm

Let’s dive deeper into swiping with a ‘Less is more’-piece of art. A follow up to the
Beginners class
Restraining yourself is something I might not be able to teach you but we can try to tackle this
together and create a striking painting with minimal sophisticated vibes. That way we’ll be
getting more confident with the palette knife. I’ll show you how to hold it, how to apply paint in
different ways while keeping it simple. We’ll briefly visit the (to me) most important rules of
composition.
If you don’t have any experiences with this technique I recommend the beginners class in
addition so you can take your knowledge to the next level and really dive into this fascinating
technique.

Day 2

HIDE & REVEAL “AURORA BOREALIS”

2.00pm - 5.00pm

Playing with layering, transparencies and light. This is a magical technique that always
shows it’s beauty with the spin when all the colors show their glow. We will learn how to layer
colors on top of our pillow before we start swiping to reveal the colors underneath a faux
pillow. This technique gives your swipes dimension, lots of depth and an almost galaxy feel. I'm
excited to show and teach you this method.
You should have some experience with the bloom recipe and done some swipes before or
taken my beginners class.

Day 2

INTRODUCTION TO SCOOP & DRAGS

8.30am - 11.30am

In this intermediate class you will learn tips and tricks to manipulate your swipes or
blooms in a very intriguing way. Scoop it up and drag it out!
How to handle the amount of paint needed and how to use your palette knife in the right way.
I’m stoked to be able to teach you my trademark technique!
I recommend the beginners class in addition, in case you have no experience or struggle with
getting cells. This class will help to prepare you for the “Geometrical bloom” class.

Day 3

HIDE & REVEAL “AURORA BOREALIS”

8.30am - 11.30am

Playing with layering, transparencies and light. This is a magical technique that always
shows it’s beauty with the spin when all the colors show their glow. We will learn how to layer
colors on top of our pillow before we start swiping to reveal the colors underneath a faux
pillow. This technique gives your swipes dimension, lots of depth and an almost galaxy feel. I'm
excited to show and teach you this method.
You should have some experience with the bloom recipe and done some swipes before or
taken my beginners class.

Day 3

ABSTRACT FLUID ART - 'THE GEOMETRICAL BLOOM'

2.00pm - 5.00pm

This advanced class is all about creating an abstract piece of art in a cubistic,
Picassoesque way. We’re going nuts with swipes and Scoop and Drags, layer them, use
transparency and stretching to create light and depth. This is my newest technique and you
need some experience for this class. If you’re a total beginner I advice you to take the
Beginners AND the ‘Intro to scoop and drags’ class to make sure you’ll get the most out of it.
I’m so happy to share this valuable information with you and help elevate your artwork to a new level.
