The day I learned how to create the bloom patterns changed my life. I was drawn to the technique because of its clear and distinct lacing and cells. I very soon realized the potential of this consistency based technique. There is so much more you can do with it than „just“ bloom.
I obsessively studied ingredients, and invented methods like the loaded palette knife swipe and the scoop and drag that lead to the transfer swipe.
I’m fascinated by coincidence, but intrigued by the amount of intention you can add. I love to experiment and go with the flow.
I’m so happy to get to share the experiences I made in the last few years with you.

DAY 1 November 17th, 2022

BLOOM SWIPES BASICS

08:30 - 11:30AM

We learn about the bloom recipe. How and why does it work, what are the ingredients and how to mix them. Why is the consistency so important? And what the heck is this Cell activator?! We dive into swiping and how you can use it as your tool to create an intentional piece of fluid art.

BLOOM SWIPE 2.0

02:00 - 05:00PM

Intermediate class and a follow up to the basics class we’ll swipe away with palette knives, look into different swiping techniques dive more into consistencies and how you can use them to get striking results.

MEET & GREET RECEPTION

07:00 - 09:00PM

Meet in the Registration and Gallery area for sliders, salad and a drink and the chance to meet and rub shoulders with your fellow students and the Artist Teachers.  The ticket price includes food and 1 drink. The Cash bar will also be open after that.

AMSTERDAM HISTORY OF ACRYLICS

Thursday Lunch

Amsterdam will be onhand Thursday from 12.30 to 1.30pm to talk about the History of Acrylics. This is a free event to all students who have booked classes with the teachers.

COMPOSITIONING

Learn about the fundamentals of composition
We’ll create a negative space swipe and learn how to bring it in the desired position to find and keep the flow of your piece of art.

GALA DINNER

07:30 - 12:00PM

Please join us for a sit down buffet dinner with 1 drink included and a cash bar available afterwards. Once the food has been eaten and whilst the drinks are flowing we will open the floor up to an Artist Q&A. After this there will be a raffle of Art and Gift Baskets chock full of products donated from all our sponsors. This is a hugely fun event that you won't want to miss.

DECOART WATER MARBLING DEMO

Friday Lunch

DecoArt will be onhand Friday from 12.30 to 1.30pm to demonstrate 'Water Marbling' This is a free event to all students who have booked classes with the teachers.

DAY 3 November 19th, 2022

INTRO TO SCOOPS, DRAGS & TRANSFER SWIPES

08:30 - 11:30AM

Bring your swiping game to the next level. A great way to mix up your composition and bring more intent into your creations. Learn how to scoop up your design and stretch it out to create backgrounds, patterns or details.

EXPERIMENTAL BLOOM CLASS

02:00 - 05:00PM

Let go and create! This class is gonna be so much fun. Let’s forget about what has to be, what is expected! Let’s create like we never did before and have fun with intuition and experimentation. We might even make up a new technique! We’re mostly using the bloom recipe but it’s all up to you what you do with it. If you have an idea already, something you always wanted to try, please bring what ever tools you’d need for that.

WRAP PARTY

08:00 - 12:00PM

It's a WRAP!! Come and celebrate the end of this wonderful 3 day event, offsite at TK's in Addison. We will have an open bar from 8pm to Midnight and a cash bar thereafter. Food, DJ, Photo Booth and dancing. Students are responsible for their own travel to and from this event.

RESIN FLOOD COATING YOUR ART

Saturday Lunch

Dallas based artists 'Artist Till Death' will be onhand Saturday from 12.30 to 1.30pm to teach you the hints and tips on how to finish your acrylic art with a resin flood coat. This is a free event to all students who have booked classes with the teachers.
